I’m on my way to the east coast to kick off a cross-country adventure/homage to mark the 10th anniversary of my father’s passing.

Tomorrow I will pick up a custom pig-cooker grill in eastern NC and haul it back to Oregon over the next week. The trip will officially begin with a visit to his final resting place in Four Oaks, NC. Then, on August 8, exactly ten years since he left us, I’ll host a NC-style “pig-pickin’” in the same style as the ones he and I used to do together, for a gathering of over 100 guests.

I invite you to follow along on my cross-country journey, as I’ll need your recommendations from time to time.
